Chehade Sends Pio Packing

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Georges Chehade opened to 19,000 from middle position and was called by Marek Blasko in the small blind. Lorenzo Pio stuck in the last of his 12,000 chips from the big blind which created a side pot between the remaining two players.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and the action checked to Chehade who continued for 18,000. Blasko called and the {q-Hearts} paired the board on the turn. Blasko led out for 10,000 and Chehade raised to 67,000. Blasko tanked for a couple of minutes before finally laying his hand down.

Pio tabled {q-Spades}{5-Hearts} for trip queens but Chehade held {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a better kicker. The {3-Spades} on the river changed nothing and Pio was sent home on the first hand of the day.
