Aces for Kovalchuk

After Michael Ferrell opened with a raise on the button to 1,300, two-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner Oleksii Kovalchuk reraised to 4,100 from the small blind. Action got back to Ferrell, and he made the call.

The flop came down {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, and Kovalchuk checked. Ferrell slid out 5,800, but his wager was upped by Kovalchuk's check-raise to 12,500. Ferrell called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, and both players checked to see the {A-Diamonds} land on the river. Kovalchuk bet 16,000, and Ferrell called.

Kovalchuk showed the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} for a set of aces, and Ferrell mucked his hand.
