More For Speranza

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

He's putting on a clinic here today.

On a {5-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {2-Spades} flop, Tarcisio Bruno checked from the blinds, and he called a bet of 23,000 from chip daddy Gianluca Speranza. They check-checked through the {3-Spades} turn, and the {Q-Diamonds} drew a leading bet from Bruno. It was 35,000, but Speranza was unimpressed. He grabbed a tower of black chips and strung out a raise to 100,000 straight, drawing an instant fold from his opponent.

He's around 1.3 million now.

Hinrichsen Puts Up No Fight

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

From the button, Andrew Hinrichsen raised to 22,000, and he found a call from big blind Gianluca Speranza to go heads up to the flop.

The two of them checked through the {J-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} flop and the {8-Hearts} turn. The {9-Diamonds} landed on the river, and now Speranza took his cue to bet 28,000 at the pot. Hinrichsen uncapped his cards and quietly folded, sending another little pot over to the big stack.

Eric Baudry Eliminated in 6th Place (28,977)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Eric Baudry - 6th place
Eric Baudry - 6th place

Under the gun, Eric Baudry raised to 22,000, and the table folded around to the button. There, Gianluca Speranza put in a three-bet to 54,000, but Baudry wanted to play for more. Without much delay, he announced the four-bet shove for 450,000 on the nose. Speranza lowered his head and let out a little sigh at the big decision facing him.

After maybe 90 seconds, the call came, and the cards were on their backs with nearly a million chips up for grabs.

Showdown
Baudry: {5-Spades} {5-Hearts}
Speranza: {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

The flop was a disaster for Baudry's pair as it came {K-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {2-Spades} to put him in a big hole with two to come. He needed to find one of the two-out fives now, and the river was a close-but-not-quite {3-Diamonds}. The river was close, too, but the {4-Clubs} was another miss for the all-in player, now officially all out.

So then, it's Baudry who falls in sixth place on a coin flip. He'll earn nearly 30,000 for that performance, but it's Speranza who's now well in command of this thing. He's got 1.2 million on the nose now -- over half the chips in play.
