Gavatin's Day Gets a Little Better

Mats Gavatin's day has just taken a turn for the better after a recent double up through Allie Prescott -- the result of a set over set situation.

Prescott opened the pot with a raise to 4,000 from early position and Gavatin made the call from the small blind.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Gavatin checked to Prescott, who fired a 6,500 continuation bet. Gavatin then countered with a raise to 18,000, and Prescott responded by raising the pot.

"Did you re-pot it?" Gavatin asked.

Prescott nodded.

"I'm all in," Gavatin said.

Prescott made the call:

Prescott: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Gavatin: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The rest of the board filled out {4-Hearts}, {6-Spades} and Gavatin's set of eights held up to win the pot.

"I had nine-seven," said Howard Lederer after the dust settled.

Gavatin improved to 135,000 in chips after the hand while Prescott dropped to 55,000.
