Angelikas Busts Mansour to Burst the Bubble

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Ramin Mansour's exit guaranteed the remaining players an AU$3,292 payday
Ramin Mansour's exit guaranteed the remaining players an AU$3,292 payday

In what proved to be possibly one of the quickest bubble periods ever, following the departure of Hong Xie on the feature table, Ramin Mansour and Con Angelakis played a huge pot that burst the bubble, with no time for the floor to even announce that play had reached the bubble it happened so quickly.

The duo were battling on a board of {8-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} with all the chips going in on the turn.

Con Angelakis: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Ramin Mansour: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}

"I didn't think you were that strong, I thought you had aces there," said Angelakis after both players had revealed their respective holdings.

Despite Mansour being the favourite in the hand, the high variance of Omaha became readily apparent on the {2-Clubs} turn and {3-Clubs} river, which game Angelakis the nut flush and stacked him up to 420,000, while a disappointed Mansour was left to rue what could have been. Mansour's departure guarantees all remaining players a cash of AU$3,292.

Xie Eliminated by Pham

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Hong Xie limped into the pot from under the gun and was followed by Mohammed Elkassir on the button as well as Luke Edwards in the small blind. Dinh Pham then raised to 20,000 from the big blind. Xie and Elkassir called. Edwards folded.

The flop came {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Spades} and Pham bet 26,000. Xie moved all in for 63,000. Pham called.

Pham: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Xie: {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Pham had flopped the flush and led Xie who had two pair and a straight flush draw.

Nothing changed as the board ran out the {6-Diamonds} and {3-Spades} resulting in Xie hitting the rail.

Edwards Doubles Through Gupta

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Ash Gupta raised to 12,000 from the button. Luke Edwards announced 'pot' and re-raised to 38,000. Gupta three-bet enough to put Edwards all-in. Edwards called with 71,000 total chips behind.

Edwards: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Gupta: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The flop dropped {8-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts} sending Gupta to the lead with a set of Kings.

The {q-Diamonds} on the turn changed nothing and Edwards stood up from his seat.

The dealer then produced the {a-Hearts} on the river giving Edwards the winning hand with a set of aces.

"I'll take a seat," said a relieved Edwards after the hand. "Wow!" he added, as he raked in the double.

Truong Sends Chen to the Rail

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

While he may have just scraped into Day 2, Tao Chen is going no further with Tam Truong sending him to the rail. Chen raised from under-the-gun and called off for his tournament life when Truong re-raised from the cutoff and both hands were turned over.

Tao Chen: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Tam Truong: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}

The last board Chen would see in the tournament ran out {10-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and he headed for the rail in 21st while Truong stacked up to 510,000, which is currently good for the chip lead, with next closest rival Truong's tablemate Jun Wang, who is sitting on 500,000.

Ash Gupta

With the community cards spread {6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts} and 50,000 in the pot, Ash Gupta was all-in from the small blind for a further 103,000 and the action was on Mohammed Elkassir in the big blind.

After some time in the tank, Elkassir slapped down the call and Gupta revealed {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a king-high flush. Elkassir flashed his opponent {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} before mucking, leaving Gupta free to scoop the pot.
