Marvin Doubles Through Pham in Giant Pot

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante
Joshua Marvin
Joshua Marvin

We caught up to the action on a board of {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} where Christian Pham and Joshua Marvin were heads up with a bit more than 500,000 already in the pot. Marvin led out with a bet of 250,000. Pham decided to reraise, making it 900,000 to go. Marvin called.

The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and Marvin checked over to Pham. Pham bet 2,100,000 and, after a few seconds, Marvin moved all in for 4,285,000. Pham called quickly with a covering stack and their hands were turned up.

Pham: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Marvin: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Pham had turned top pair, but it was no good. He was still behind Marvin's kings and needed an ace or a queen to catch up. The river was the {4-Clubs} though, not improving Pham, so Marvin was able to double to just over 10 million while Pham dropped back to close to where he started the day.
