Welcome to Matt Berkey's Style
Matt Berkey was drawn to a tough table, but that's more of a problem for his opponents than Berkey himself. It's Berkey who keeps the boat sailing, dominating the field.
Adam Levy arrived to the table in the middle of a hand between Berkey, Ilkin Amirov, and Artem Metalidi. Levy observed the remaining portion of the hand. He missed the opening piece when Amirov raised under the gun, and Berkey called on the button. Big blind Metalidi joined the contest, too.
The flop was checked to Berkey, who fired 2,500. Only Amirov called, and both players then checked the turn. Berkey, however, bet out another 8,000 on the river. Amirov called rapidly, but the showdown wasn't a song to his ears.
Berkey turned up for a flopped combo draw, and he got there with a rivered flush. Amirov mucked, showing a sign of frustration.
Levy, who spent the hand on the sidelines, exchanged some words with Berkey, pointing out his ever-winning approach at the table.
"Welcome to my style," Berkey replied with a smile. "Show a few hands, play all the big pots," he described his strategy.
