Hui Back Over a Million

Level 26 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Tom Koral entered the hand with a raise from the cutoff. David Steicke came along on the button, and so did Phil Hui from the big blind.

The {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop was checked to Steicke, who bet. Hui, however, reacted with a check-raise, forcing Koral out of the way. Steicke decided to continue and called.

Hui led with a bet on the {5-Hearts} turn, and Steicke wasn't ready to fold yet. However, Hui's final bet on the {K-Diamonds} river convinced Steicke to lay his hand down.

A nice addition without showdown pushed Hui's stack back over one million, while Steicke dropped below six big bets.

Ryan Himes Eliminated in 5th Place ($52,542)

Level 26 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Ryan Himes
Ryan Himes

Hold'em

Ryan Himes opened from the cutoff and Matthew Schreiber defended his big blind. The flop was {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}, and Schreiber checked. Himes bet, Schreiber check-raised, Himes put in three bets, and Schreiber called.

On the {10-Clubs} turn, Schreiber check-called another bet from Himes. The river paired the board with the {9-Diamonds}, and Schreiber led out. Himes called and got shown the bad news by Schreiber, who held {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Himes open-folded {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and was left with just 90,000.

In the next hand, Himes went all in from under the gun, and Phil Hui called from the big blind.

Himes: {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Hui: {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

The {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop all but sealed it, and the {8-Diamonds} on the turn decided it, making the {10-Spades} river meaningless. Himes added a big five-figure payday of $52,542 to his bankroll for his fifth-place finish.

Koral Rivers Straight

Level 26 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Stud

Tom Koral completed with the {J-Clubs}, and only Phil Hui stepped in his way, calling with the {8-Clubs}. Koral continued on fourth street, and Hui stuck around. The next two streets ceased fire, but Koral put in one more bet on seventh. Hui paid him off.

Phil Hui: {X-}{X-} / {8-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {X-}
Tom Koral: {X-}{X-} / {J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} / {X-}

"Straight," announced Koral, apparently surprising Hui. He revealed {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for proof, and the river straight hurt Hui, who dropped down.

Hui and Koral tangled in another pot shortly thereafter, in stud hi-lo for a change. Koral emerged as the winner again, and Hui's stack is now reduced to about 450,000.

Hanks Honig Eliminated in 6th Place ($37,892)

Level 26 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Matthew "Hanks" Honig
Matthew "Hanks" Honig

Omaha Hi-Lo

Matthew "Hanks" Honig opened from under the gun. Ryan Himes three-bet from the big blind, and Honig put the rest of his stack in.

Honig: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Himes: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}

Himes flopped a set of queens on the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop, but Honig still had plenty of outs to win the hand. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn wasn't one of the outs he needed, nor was the {5-Clubs} on the river. Honig said his goodbyes and was off to collect his $37,892 in winnings.

Hughes: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} / {4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{K-Hearts}{A-Clubs} / {4-Spades}

David Steicke completed with the {5-Clubs}, Ryan Hughes put in two bets with the {5-Clubs}, and Steicke called. On fourth street, Hughes' last chips went in after a series of raises.

Steicke was ahead with his pair of jacks and improved to two pair on sixth street. Hughes rivered a lower two pair, and the two-time WSOP bracelet winner was eliminated.

Brendan Taylor Eliminated in 8th Place ($21,007)

Stud Hi-Lo

Himes: {5-Hearts}{K-Clubs} / {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} / {Q-Clubs}
Taylor: {J-Clubs}{6-Hearts} / {K-Spades}{A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{X-} / {2-Hearts}

After being punished in an earlier hand, Brendan Taylor was down to his last 25,000 chips. Himes brought it in for 10,000, Taylor shoved, and all other players folded to Himes, who committed the extra chips.

Himes made a pair of fives after all seven cards were dealt, which was one more pair than Taylor was able to make. He also couldn't make a low. Taylor was escorted to the payout desk to collect his $21,007 in winnings.

Hui Hits Tens Full

Level 25 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Phil Hui
Phil Hui

Stud

Ryan Hughes completed with the {4-Spades}, and his left-hand opponent, Phil Hui, raised it up with the {10-Spades} in front of him. Hughes called and received a nice-looking {A-Spades} on fourth street. He led out and bet on fifth, as well. Hui called twice before they both checked sixth street. Hui, however, bet out on the river, and Hughes called quickly.

Ryan Hughes: {X-}{X-} / {4-Spades}{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} / {X-}
Phil Hui: {X-}{X-} / {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} / {X-}

Hui turned up {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for tens full, earning an applause from his railbirds. Hui scooped a large pot to move over 1.1 million, while Hughes had only about 250,000 left.
