Jacob Haller - 9th Place
Jacob Haller - 9th Place

Jacob Haller defended his big blind from Sam Soverel's under-the-gun open. On a {7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop, Haller checked. Soverel continued for 45,000 and Haller put in a small check-raise to 105,000. Soverel studied his opponent awhile, then slid in 245,000. After getting the count, Haller announced he was all in. It looked to be about 800,000 and Soverel called without much delay.

Soverel: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Haller: {8-Spades}{7-Spades}

Haller needed help and the {j-Hearts} did not provide any. It would need to be a seven or eight on the river, but a {10-Clubs} arrived to send the pot to Soverel.
