Hand #144 - Peter Eastgate

Ylon Schwartz has the button in Seat 3. Ivan Demidov completes the small blind and Peter Eastgate checks his big blind option for a heads-up battle of the blinds.

The flop comes {7-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {6-Spades}. Demidov checks it over to the aggressive Eastgate, who lives up to his reputation with a bet of 850,000. Demidov elects to take one off and calls to the {K-Hearts} on the turn. Both players quickly check. The river card is the {3-Clubs}. Demidov seizes the initiative with a bet of 1.625 million. Eastgate emphatically raises him to 5.5 million total.

Demidov looks pained, similar to the hand where he called Dennis Phillips' 5-million chip bet on a board of K-3-3-7-K. But he hasn't released his hand yet, perhaps working through all of the action in his head. This time he doesn't call the river bet. Instead he folds.
