Lapham's Incredible Journey

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Bryan Lapham
Bryan Lapham

With 350,000 already in the pot and the flop showing J?6?3?, Josecarlos Abreu checked, followed by Bryan Lapham. Juan Lamprea then bet 105,000, which Abreu called. Lapham, however, had other plans and went all in for 1,145,000, prompting Lamprea to fold. After some deliberation, Abreu reluctantly called, leading to a showdown.

Josecarlos Abreu: 9?9?All in
Bryan Lapham: A?9?

Abreu celebrated loudly as he held the lead. Lapham was hoping for a spade or an ace to win the pot. However, the turn 6? and river J? did not improve his hand. Despite the table thinking Lapham was out, a recount by the dealer revealed he had 35,000 more than Abreu and remained in the game.

Lapham folded the very next hand and was supposed to be forced all in the hand after that, but the floor announced that the table was going to break to balance out the other tables. Hoping for a better position at the next table, Lapham was disappointed to find himself as the big blind and therefore forced all in immediately.

With only 35,000 left, Lapham was automatically all in and called by four players. The flop came 6?3?7?, and everyone checked to Gautm Lillaney, who made a bet. Nobody else wanted to play, so it went to showdown.

Lillaney revealed 10?6? for a pair of sixes. Lapham hadn't looked at his cards yet, but when he did, he turned over A? followed by A?. The turn brought the third ace A?, giving him a quintuple-up to 175,000.

Two hands later, Lapham found himself in another hand against Lillaney, where he managed to double up with A?8? against 7?7? on the 10?J?A?A?4? board.
