As can be expected with a 20-minute turbo blind structure, the action was hot and heavy all day, as players fell to the wayside one after another. Names like David Peters, Josh Arieh, JC Tran, Mike Matusow, Christoph Vogelsang, and Cary Katz all took their shots today but sadly could not make a deep run.

On the other hand, players who did manage to get far were Calvin Anderson (24th- $19,407), Martin Jacobson (19th-$23,266), and Ian Matakis (11th-$35,519). For a while, it looked like defending champ Phil Hellmuth (15th-$28,463) was poising himself for back-to-back titles, but alas, he fell to Scotlands Ludovic Geilich when Geilichs rivered flush crushed Hellmuths flopped pair.
