Suzuki Triples Up

Level 13

2-7 Triple Draw

Eric Wasserson opened from the cutoff before Koray Aldemir three-bet on the button. Ryutaro Suzuki then four-bet out of the small blind, getting calls from both Wasserson and Aldemir.

Suzuki and Aldemir took one card while Wasserson opted to take two. Suzuki then led out with Wasserson making the call. Aldemir responded with a raise but neither of his opponents were going anywhere as they both called.

The second draw saw Suzuki stand pat, Wasserson take two and Aldemir draw one. Suzuki then moved his remaining chips into the middle. As was the case throughout the hand, Wasserson just called. Aldemir put in a raise and Wasserson once again called to generate side action.

Suzuki declined to take a card at the final opportunity with both of his opponents drawing one. Neither Wasserson nor Aldemir chose to put more in the pot, instead checking to showdown where Wasserson tabled 7x4x3x3x2x. The pair of threes did not prevent him from taking he sidepot as Aldemir held 8x6x6x3x2x but Suzuki was best with his 7x5x4x3x2x to score the early triple up and keep his title defense chances alive.
