A Run of Bad Luck for Strange; Grujic Wins a Big One and Solano Doubles Up
Jack Strange had a big stack just a half an hour ago, but lost three big hands in a short amount of time.
Hand #1:
He first doubled up Emilien Pitavy in a pot worth around 220,000 chips. Pitavy made two pair with K?6? on the board 7?K?6?A?3?, while Strange held the A?8?.
Hand #2:
By far the biggest pot happened against Marko Grujic. According to the players, action started with an open from the player in the hijack, which Strange called on the cutoff. Grujic also called from the small blind, as did the player in the big blind.
Four players saw the J?7?4? flop. Both blinds checked, while hijack, the preflop raisor, bet 40,000. Strange called and Grujic called, the big blind folded.
The turn was the 6?. Grujic checked, as did the hijack. Strange now bet 85,000 and Grujic raised to 240,000. Hijack folded and Strange called.
The river was the K?, bringing in the backdoor flush draw. The pot had ballooned to well over 500,000 at this point. Grujic went all in for 350,000. Strange thought for a while and then let go of his hand.
Hand #3:
Soon after this, Jesse Solano open shoved from middle position for around 200,000 chips. Strange put in the call and other players folded.

Strange was ahead and it still looked good for him on the K?6?3? flop. The turn, however, was the 8?, giving Solano the pair and a near-guaranteed double-up. Strange didn’t hit a ten on the river, it was the K?. Solano doubled up, while Strange ended with a short stack of around eight big blinds.
