Auckland Gains Much-Needed Chips

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

It’s been a steady decline for one of Day 1’s chip leaders, but Daniel Auckland took an opportunity to pick up chips.

After action folded around to the button, the player in position raised to 30,000.

Auckland, who was in the small blind with a short stack, made the call, and the player in the big blind folded.

The dealer fanned 5?4?J? on the flop, and Auckland checked. The player on the button asked Aukland how much he had left, and Auckland moved his hands out of the way. The player on the button then bet 20,000, which Auckland promptly called.

The K? showed up on the turn, resulting in both players checking their option. The dealer placed J? on the river.

Auckland moved all in and his opponent immediately folded.
