Alexandre Reard Leads Final Four in Event #90: $10,000 6-Handed No Limit Hold'em Championship
After another ten 60-minute levels of play on Day 3 in in Event #90: $10,000 6-Handed No Limit Hold'em Championship at the 2023 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas just four players remain from a start of day field of 30 hopefuls. Although this tournament was originally slated to play down to a winner on the third day, the unexpectedly large number of entries (550) necessitated the addition of a fourth and final day.
Leading those who remain is French WSOP bracelet winner Alexandre Reard, who, with a stack of 18,450,000, holds more than half of the chips in play. The other three players are all packed fairly close to one another with high stakes crusher Stephen Chidwick leading them on 6,950,000. Mixed game specialist AJ Kelsall managed to bag 4,500,000 while Justin Liberto brings up the rear on 3,100,000.
All four players will be vying for the $1,057,663 first-place prize, which represents the lion's share of the $5,115,000 prize pool. That prize will accompany a coveted WSOP gold bracelet. So while they have all locked up at least $306,555, there is still a lot to play for.
One individual who will not be contending for the title is the chip leader coming into the day, Jamie O'Connor. He suffered a frustrating time on the felt and ultimately fell in 14th place after his flopped middle pair came up short against Reard's top pair.
Other notables who saw their deep runs come to an end on Day 3 include Day 1 chip leader Tobias Schwecht (18th - $41,748), GG Poker Brazil team member Felipe Ramos (13th - $51,951) and all-time WSOP bracelet leader Phil Hellmuth (9th - $86,118).

Final Table Action
Play continued at a fairly steady pace throughout the day, and as a result, the official final table of six was set shortly after the dinner break when Michael Rossitto fell in seventh place, his king-queen dominated by Kelsall's big slick.
At that point, things did slow down significantly, with just two more eliminations in the final three levels. Eric Baldwin was the unfortunate first casualty of the final table when he ran straight into Reard's jacks.
Next to go was Eli Berg after a rampant Reard made maximum use of jacks for a second time.
Although there was still over an hour of play left at that point, the remaining players became more cagey. In addition, the short stacks seemed to have picked up extra equity from somewhere as they doubled up, at times coming from behind to do so on several occasions. Ultimately, the end of the night was reached with four remaining.
Play resumes at 1:00 p.m. local time on July 17th in Level 31 with blinds of 125,000/250,000 with a 250,000 big blind ante.
