Skaggs Skates into the Chip Lead

Level 34 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Thomas Skaggs raised pot on the button, and when he faced a re-pot from David Hu, Skaggs reluctantly put in the call.

Thomas Skaggs: A?K?4?3?
David Hu: A?Q?Q?7?

Hu seemed in a good spot to take a commanding lead if his pair of queens could hold. Skaggs' immediate outs were a king or an ace.

The wheel spun, 9?3?4? pairing both of Skaggs' previously unpaired cards. The turn was a brick in the form of the [the], and when the 6? peeled off on the river, Hu had to explain to his rail that he had lost a flip.

From Dawn to Al-Sadoun

Level 33 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Satar Al-Sadoun has gone from chip leader to short stack several times in this gauntlet of Day 3, and at the point that this hand took place, David Hu had both his opponents covered two-to-one.

Al-Sadoun checked on a flop of 4?4?2?, and Hu bet 600,000, which Al-Sadoun called. The turn brought the 6?, and they both tapped the table.

When the river came the Q?, Al-Sadoun bet an even 1,000,000, which Hu snap-called. Hu saved Al-Sadoun from having to show when he quickly tabled the 10?3?A?9? for the flush.

Shortly after, Al-Sadoun won a pot preflop after potting it over Thomas Skaggs' open, showing the A?A? after Skaggs mucked.

Al-Sadoun Gets Some Back From Skaggs

Level 33 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Satar Al-Sadoun raised to 600,000 from the button and got called by Thomas Skaggs in the big blind to bring out a K?8?5? flop.

Skaggs checked over to Al-Sadoun who tossed out a bet of 600,000. Skaggs counted out calling chips and slid them into the pot to see the K? hit the turn.

Both players checked through to the 7? river on which both players checked through again to get to showdown.

Al-Sadoun showed the A?9?6?4? for the second nut straight which was good enough to force Skaggs to toss his cards into the muck as the dealer pushed the pot in Al-Sadoun's direction.

Skaggs Check Raises Back into Contention

Level 33 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Three ways to a flop of 3?9?8?, Thomas Skaggs checked and Satar Al-Sadoun placed a bet of 600,000. David Hu made the call and Skaggs raised for the remainder of his chips.

Al-Sadoun tossed his hand in the muck and Hu thought for a bit before sticking in the call.

Thomas Skaggs: Q?8?8?4?
David Hu: A?10?8?7?

Skaggs had flopped a set of eights and Hu just had his open-ended straight draw working for him. The door quickly closed on Hu when the turn paired the 9?, making the river purely an obligatory action.
