Straight Flush of Guibert Takes Down a Flopped Nut Flush
PokerNews heard a collective gasp come from an adjacent table and arrived as the river card was being dealt.
In a pot that saw the under-the-gun player limp with a late position player limping behind, Marco Guibert in the big blind checked his option to bring out the 10?3?7? flop.
Guibert checked as did the player under the gun. The late position limper tossed out a bet and got check-raised by Guibert.
The under-the-gun player had a check-raise of his own up his sleeve and jammed to put the late position limper and Guibert at risk.
The player in late position folded but Guibert snap-called to put himself at risk and send he and the under-the-gun player to a runout.
Marco Guibert: 5?4?
Under The Gun: A?9?
Both players had flopped a flush with the under-the-gun player having flopped the nut flush, but Guibert wasn't dead as he had one out to the straight flush.
The 6? wasted no time in jumping off the top of the deck and landing on the turn, leaving the under-the-gun player drawing dead headed to the A? river.
Guibert counted out his stack and collected a full double in what became a sick runout for both players.
