Welcome to Day 1 of Event #66: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better at the 2023 World Series of Poker. Cards go in the air at 2 p.m. PDT at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for the opener of this three-day event.
Lawrence Brandt won this tournament last year when he outlasted 1,303 entries to win his first WSOP gold bracelet and $289,610. The big turnout yielded a prize pool of $1,737,505 and the final table featured the likes of Jared Jaffee. Brandt followed up the win later in the 2022 series with his second bracelet in the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. event.

Players will start with 25,000 chips and they will play 40-minute levels on Day 1. After 15 levels on Day 1, the remaining runners will return for 60-minute levels on Day 2 and beyond. Day 1 will have a 15-minute break every three levels. Late registration is open until the start of Level 10 (about 8:45 p.m.) and players who have been felted have the option to reenter twice before registration closes.
