Taylor and Nia Make A Gentlemen's Agreement, Taylor Pays Up
Michael Nia raised from early position to 5,500 and got one caller in Stuart Taylor from late position leading to a K?5?3? flop.
Nia tossed out a bet of 3,000 and Taylor called, sending the pair to the 3? turn.
Nia continued with another bet, this time to 5,000. Taylor asked, "Why so small?' before thinking briefly and deciding to toss in another call to bring the 10? out on the river.
Nia continued for a third time but this time for a much larger bet of 35,000 and sent Taylor into the tank.
While working out the hand, Taylor engaged into a friendly conversation with Nia that eventually led the pair to an agreement; if Taylor did, in fact, decide to fold, he would show his hand and if his hand was better than Nia's, Nia would have to show and pay Taylor $100.
Conversely, if it was shown that Taylor's hand was the second best of the two, Taylor would have to send $50 across the table to Nia.
A clock was eventually called by another player at the table and as the clock counted down to zero, Taylor folded and tabled the Q?Q? face up.
Nia, as agreed upon, turned over the K?3? to show that he did, in fact, have the better holdings and with that, Taylor, a man of his word, took out $50 and paid Nia in what became a very fun and friendly confrontation.
