Nakamura Makes an Eight to Double

Level 27 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Razz

Tamon Nakamura: XxXx/5x3x9x
Jason Pedigo: XxXx/6xKx2x

Tamon Nakamura completed, then called when Jason Pedigo raised. Nakamura opened the betting on fourth and Pedigo called.

Nakamura moved all in for his last 85,000 on fifth and Pedigo stood up from his seat as he pondered the decision. He eventually called and turned over 4x6x. Nakamura had 7x4x.

Nakamura caught an 8x on sixth to make a 8-7-5-4-3 and left Pedigo already drawing dead. Nakamura turned over an inconsequential 10x on seventh and Pedigo mucked his board.

Walter Chambers
Walter Chambers

Omaha Hi-Lo

Ryutaro Suzuki has held the chip lead for virtually the entire final table, but he has recently ceded that lead to Walter Chambers.

In a battle in the blinds, Chambers raised the small blind and Suzuki called in the big blind.

On the 9?8?10? flop, Chambers bet and Suzuki called, then on the K? turn Suzuki called another bet from Chambers.

This set up the 3? river, and once more, Chambers bet. Suzuki gave it some thought before he spiked in a call.

Chambers announced a jack-high straight, showing A?J?9?7?, which prompted Suzuki to send his losing cards to the muck.

Suzuki Gets Lucky Chop

Level 27 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Action folded to Ryutaro Suzuki in the small blind and he raised. Tamon Nakamura called and they saw a flop of 3?J?Q?.

Suzuki led out with a bet, Nakamura raised, Suzuki reraised, and Nakamura called all in.

Tamon Nakamura: Q?J?7?4?
Ryutaro Suzuki: A?9?8?4?

Nakamura had flopped top two pair, while Suzuki had a straight draw. The 8? fell on the turn, followed by the 6? on the river as Suzuki made a low to chop the pot and deny Nakamura a full double.

After the hand, Suzuki began playfully speaking to Nakamura and his supporters on the rail in Japanese. "Be quiet. There's too much noise. I don't understand what he's saying," Nakamura said as the players at the table shared a laugh.

Nakamura on Fumes

Level 27 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud

Walter Chambers: 10?10?10?/7?2?3?2?
Tamon Nakamura: XxXxXx/K?4?6?6?
Ryutaro Suzuki: XxXx/5? - folded bring-in

Tamon Nakamura completed and got called by Walter Chambers. Ryutaro Suzuki folded his bring-in.

On fourth through sixth streets, Nakamura bet and Chambers called, but on seventh, Nakamura slowed down and checked. Chambers then bet and got called by Nakamura.

"Tens full," declared Chambers, rolling over three tens in the hole to go with his open pair of deuces for the winner, which left Nakamura on fumes.

Nakamura was able to double up shortly after through Suzuki, but he remains the shortest stack at the table.

Nakamura Can't Get Another Bluff Through

Level 27 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud

Tamon Nakamura: XxXx/8?A?7?3?/Xx
Ryutaro Suzuki: XxXx/6?Q?4?8?/Xx

Ryutaro Suzuki completed, Tamon Nakamura raised, and Suzuki called to create an all-Japan battle going to fourth street.

Nakamura continued firing bets through to seventh as Suzuki called him down. On seventh, Nakamura bet again and Suzuki spent several minutes in the tank, his head resting on the rail of the table as he shuffled his chips, before he eventually slammed in a call.

Nakamura quickly threw Q?9? into the muck, while Suzuki showed J?J?A? for a pair of jacks to win the big pot off his countryman.

No-Limit Hold 'em

Tamon Nakamura raised to 100,000 on the button and got a call from Walter Chambers in the big blind.

The flop came 5?10?7? and the players checked. On the 8? turn, Chambers led out for 200,000 and got a call from Nakamura.

The river brought the J? and Chambers now checked. Nakamura cut out a bet of 350,000 and slid it forward.

Chambers thought for a bit and then made the call.

Nakamura could only show Q?6? for a missed straight draw, while Chambers rolled over 7?3? for a winning pair of sevens.

Ian Steinman
Ian Steinman

No-Limit Hold'em

Ian Steinman raised to 85,000 from under the gun before Tamon Nakamura three-bet out of the big blind to 200,000. Steinman quickly called and they went heads-up to the 2?5?9? flop.

Nakamura tossed in 100,000 and Steinman called. The turn came the 3? and Nakamura announced he was all in.

Steinman, with 420,000 remaining, tanked for several minutes as he counted down his stack several times and asked what the next blind level will be. He eventually slammed his chips in the middle and Nakamura turned over A?4? for the straight.

"Nice hand," Steinman said with an air of resignation as he showed 9?8?. The river came the 4? and Steinman, who battled back from a short stack multiple times today, was finally eliminated in fifth place.
