Sly Gets Away From Action Flop as Pupillo Busts One

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Nick Pupillo bet 5,000 on a flop of {7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} and was called by Chris Sly in the big blind. An opponent in middle position then moved all in for 32,500 and Pupillo quickly called.

Sly, though, went into the tank for about a minute before folding {9-}{8-} for top two pair. Pupillo showed {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for a flush draw, while the all-in player flopped the nuts with {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

The {6-Spades} on the turn shot Pupillo into the lead and left his opponent drawing dead going to the {4-Spades} river.

"Didn't even have to wait. Right there on the turn. And on the river just in case," a tablemate told Pupillo after the hand.
