Gargiulo Calls Down Opponent, Takes Large Early Pot

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Qing Liu opened for 700 from early position and was called by the hijack, Joao Simao in the cutoff, Joseph Gargiulo on the button, and the big blind.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and after Liu checked, the hijack put out a bet of 3,500. Only Gargiulo called.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and the hijack fired again, this time for 4,500. Gargiulo quickly called.

The river brought the {q-Hearts} and the hijack went for a third barrel to the tune of 6,500. Gargiulo called. The hijack turned over {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Gargiulo turned over {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for top two pair and the win.
