Kassela is a Fan Favorite

Level 26 : Limits 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Frank Kassela: {x-}{x-}/{10-}{4-}{2-}{4-}/{x-}
Calvin Anderson: {x-}{x-}/{8-}{9-}{3-}{3-}/{x-}

Calvin Anderson completed and Frank Kassela called. Anderson bet again on fourth street.

"This is pretty low variance for playing against you," Kassela said as he called. Anderson slowed down on fifth and Kassela opened the betting.

Anderson tanked for a moment before throwing in the chips, then called two more bets on sixth and seventh.

"Straight six," Kassela said, turning over {6-}{5-}{3-} for 6-5-4-3-2.

"How did you win with that," Kassela's loud and growing rail joked.

"I bring in the cheering sections," Kassela added.

Who Will Win The $1,500 Razz?

Frank Kassela
Frank Kassela

The starting field of 823 has been brought down to just the final nine players in Event #73: $1,500 Razz in Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. A total prizepool of $511,305 was created and the winner will walk away with $115,723 and their very own WSOP bracelet.

The chip leader coming into the day is WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Strelitz with 2,215,000. Strelitz won his first WSOP bracelet in 2019 in the $5,000 No-Limit Holdem and in 2021 he came in second in the same event. His shifting into the mixed games has seen some success this WSOP and his deep run in this Razz proves he is a force in any game with the name poker next to it.

Somebody who has quite a bit of experience in mixed games is Frank Kassela, who comes into today with 1,630,000. Kassela has experience in Razz, given that one of his three bracelets came in the $2,500 Razz in 2010. It has been four years since Kasselas previous win and he now has a chance to put himself on the short list of players with four WSOP bracelets.
