Thomas Near Quadruples Up

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Aaron Thomas raised to 2,400 from early position before Norbert Gabuat three-bet to 4,800 on the button. Both the small blind and the big blind cold called. Action was back on Thomas who moved all in for 31,000. The Gabuat called, the small blind called for less and the big blind called.

Both Gabuat and the big blind checked down on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} board. Gabuat showed {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}, the small blind {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and the big blind {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. However it was Thomas whom won as he showed {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} for top two pair as the small blind was eliminated

The very next hand Thomas raised again to 2,400 from early position and was called by Gabuat in the cutoff and the big blind.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Thomas continued for 3,200 when checked to. Both players called.

The {a-Hearts} was the river and Thomas bet 8,200. Only Gabuat called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Thomas slowed down by checking to his opponent. Gabuat bet 22,000. Thomas asked "Which one do you have? The ace or the ten?". Thomas went into the tank for a bit before putting in the call.

However it was Gabuat this time who had {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} to take down the pot with two pair.
