Taieb Wants His Revenge

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Roger Taieb
Roger Taieb

A few hours ago, he was dreaming of the Main Event and millions of dollars in prize money. But today was not a good day for Roger Taieb, as he finally busted from the Main Event.

"It's time to take my revenge", said the Frenchman, who arrived after the dinner break, and already has 135,000.

"I was lucky, I cracked aces."

He explained that after a raise to 1,700 in early position, and a call in middle position, he made a squeeze to 7,600 in late position. Only one player called, then on a {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} board, Taieb bet flop and turn before shoving river.

His opponent called with {a-}{a-} but Taieb had made a straight {8-}{9-} on the turn and took down a nice pot to start his tournament.
