Zolotow Makes a Straight

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Jimmy D'Ambrosio opened to 3,200 from middle position and and was called by Steve Zolotow out of the big blind.

Zolotow checked on a flop of {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and then called after D'Ambrosio tossed out 700, saying it was "just a little feeler". Though technically an illegal bet, no one at the table alerted the dealer to this fact and play continued to the turn.

The {8-Diamonds} turn put three to a straight on the board and Zolotow checked for a second time. D'Ambrosio did not slow down, sizing up to 5,000. Zolotow again flatted.

Action checked through the {j-Diamonds} river and Zolotow turned over {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the turned straight, good enough to take down the pot. The river may have cost him some value, however, a point he made as he raked in his newly acquired chips.
