Rogers Joins the Field
No-Limit Hold'em
One new entry made it a full ring table and all players introduced each other by their first name, which now included John David Rogers. The investment banker prefers Dave and was almost immediately involved in the action in the second orbit of the day.
But first up, David Benyamine raised to 3,500 on the button and Eli Elezra defended the big blind to then check-fold the flop.
Shortly after, Ali Eslami raised to 3,500 in the hijack and Rogers came along out of the big blind. Rogers checked the flop and a bet worth 1,500 by Eslami won the pot.
In the next hand, Rogers raised to 4,000 in the small blind and Phil Ivey called in the big blind. Rogers led for 4,000 on the flop and Ivey tossed in a single T-5,000 chip for the call. The turn was checked by Rogers, who then folded when Ivey made it 10,000 to go.
"Yeah, that's my favourite player in the whole world," one of the guys on the rail said and clapped. Chris Fraser jokingly reacted to that and said "he was talking about me".
