Maurice Hawkins counted up his chips from middle position as he put them in the middle. The player debating a call of around 80,000 was sitting in the small blind.
"I'm just talking 'cause I want to be doubled!" said Hawkins.
When Hawkins' opponent made the call, it was a battle of pocket pairs.
Maurice Hawkins:
Small Blind:
The board ran out , and Hawkins more than doubled up with the better two pair.
Action is picked up as Ryan Depaulo gets it in preflop for 62,000.
The hands were tabled and the players were off to the races.
Ryan Depaulo:
Late Position:
The flop ran out , keeping Depaulo ahead but offering his opponent a gutshot as well as his two overs.
A turn was bad news for Depaulo, giving his opponent the nut straight. DePaulo wasn't quite dead though.
The 20% Team Pro boost came in as he hit the on the river for the flush, giving him a needed double and keeping his hopes of a second bracelet alive. Hopefully this time from the comfort of a casino chair.
With 120,000 in the middle on a flop of Erik Cajelais bet 40,000 from the big blind and was called by the cutoff.
Cajelais downsized his bet to 35,000 on the turn, but the cutoff waved the white flag and flashed an ace at his opponent.
This was the last hand to be completed at the Paris Ballroom. All remaining players have merged into Bally's where play will continue until the end of level 22.
Joseph Hebert fired preflop for 30,100, nearly his full stack. Action folded to six-time NFL Pro Bowler Calais Campbell, who wasted little time in shoving his entire stack into the middle. With little behind anyway, Hebert made the call. With Hebert at risk, the players tabled their hands.
Joseph Hebert:
Calais Campbell:
Hebert was behind but had plenty of outs. He picked up some more in the form of a flush draw after the flop. He picked up a straight draw as well on the turn. Neither draw would get there, as instead Hebert's ace hit on the river. Hebert scooped the pot and doubled his stack.
There was 18,000 in the pot with a flop. Heads up, Jason Kang check-called 11,000 and the dealer delivered a to the turn.
Another check-call from Kang, this time for 25,000. The river was , and this time Kang bet out 50,000. His opponent folded. This hand brought Kang's chip count to 315,000.
In the very next hand, his same opponent shoved all in for 70,000.
All-in Player:
Kang:
The board favored Kang which knocked his opponent out and now brought his chip count even higher.
David "The Dragon" Pham ran hot as he got it in three ways.
An early position player limped in for 6,000, and Pham raised to 18,000 preflop. The hijack, button, big blind and early position limper all elected to call.
The flop was deceiving as it fell .
The action checked to Pham. He opened for 28,000. The button then moved all in for 67,000, and play folded to the early position limper who re-shoved for 75,000. Pham took a moment and thought, before calling off and cards are flipped.
Button:
Early position limper:
David Pham:
The button was a strong favorite, and the early position was open ended, however Pham needed a lot of help.
The turn showed a , bringing a flush draw for Pham.
The river fell , completing the straight for the early position player but also bringing in Pham's flush. It took a moment for the table to notice the winning hand however, as the early position starts to celebrate, but Pham cut this short, slapping his hand on the table repeatedly.
Two players fell to the Dragon as he climbed to just under half a million chips.
