Nguyen Wins With a Pair of Nines

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen

Limit Hold'em

Roland Israelashvili raised from an early position and then called a three-bet by Scotty Nguyen in the hijack. The {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} flop was check-called by Israelashvili, who then check-called another bet on the {j-Diamonds} turn. Both opted to check the {5-Diamonds} river which Nguyen did by saying "pot is big enough, baby".

Israelashvili announced ace-high and Nguyen earned the pot with the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. "Oh, I needed the nine," Israelashvili chimed in when he saw the cards on the other side of the table.
