Tangen Left Short; Bounces Back with Aces

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

On the turn of {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades}, Michael Tangen bet 3,000 into the pot of about 5,000 and Jian Zhang made the call.

The {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Tangen continued with a bet of 7,000. Zhang moved all in for 11,900 and Tangen wasted no time making the call. Tangen tabled {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a flopped set of deuces but saw the bad news as Zhang showed {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}, turning a better set and leaving Tangen short-stacked.

The following hand, Tangen shoved his 1,100 from middle position and Zhang called next to act, followed by the cutoff jamming for 4,100 in the cutoff. The action folded back around to Zhang and he chuckled as he called off the rest.

Michael Tangen: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Cutoff: {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Jian Zhang: {10-Spades}{3-Clubs}

Tangen's aces were able to hold for the triple up as the board ran out {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.
