Badugi

Matthew Schreiber raised before Maury Barrett moved all in for his last 60,000. Schreiber called and called for a heart while taking one. Barrett stood pat.

Schreiber stood pat on the second draw. "Are you going to make me break it," Barrett asked before he also stood pat.

Schreiber ended with a {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Barrett tapped the table before making his way to the payout desk.

Betil's Stack Crumbles

Level 22 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

A-5 Triple Draw

Bariscan Betil began the day as chip leader but has seen just how quickly stacks can change in this game.

After losing a big pot to John Monnette, Betil and Monnette got involved in another heads-up. Betil raised, then called when Monnette three-bet.

Monnette took one and bet, while Betil drew two and check-called. Monnette stood pat and bet out again.

Betil, his once-massive stack reduced to a few chips, went into the tank for about a minute before deciding to save them for another hand.

Epstein Starts With Trips, Ends by Paying Off Strelitz

Level 22 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Alex Epstein raised before the draw and Daniel Strelitz re-raised. Andrew Brown called from the blinds, as did Epstein.

Brown and Epstein took two, while Strelitz drew one and bet. Both opponents called and they all drew one on the second draw.

Epstein took the lead this time with a bet and Strelitz raised. Brown got out of the way, but Epstein called and took one more.

Strelitz patted, and Epstein check-called another bet. Strelitz showed 7-6-5-3-2 to win the pot.

After the hand, Epstein claimed he started with three sevens in his hand, while Brown had three deuces. Strelitz had the other ones right from the start.

"Hard to stumble into that hand," Frank Kassela said. "That would be a weird three-bet at this stage of the tournament.

Yehuda Buchalter Eliminated in 13th Place ($7,565)

Level 22 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Yehuda Buchalter
Yehuda Buchalter

A-5 Triple Draw

Alex Epstein raised to 60,000 from the hijack only to have Jerry Wong three-bet from the button. Yehuda Buchalter then four-bet all in for 115,000 from the small blind and both Epstein and Wong called.

The draw went 3-2-2 and Epstein checked. Wong bet and then called when Epstein check-raised.

The second draw went 2-3-1 and Epstein bet 60,000, which Wong called.

On the final draw, Buchalter took one, Epstein stood pat, and Wong drew one. Epstein checked and Wong did the same.

Epstein tabled {6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{a-} and it was good as Wong flashed a queen before mucking and Buchalter had paired with his {6-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

Buchalter's elimination in 13th place brings about a two-table redraw.

Ralph Perry Eliminated in 14th Place ($7,565)

Ralph Perry

A-5 Triple Draw

Ralph Perry raised all in for 30,000 from the cutoff and Frank Kassela completed to 50,000 from the button. Daniel Strelitz called from the big blind and there was 40,000 in a side pot.

All three players drew three and then Strelitz check-called a bet. Both he and Perry took two on the second draw while Kassela drew one.

Both active players checked and on the final draw Strelitz took one, Perry two, and Kassela one. Strelitz checked and then folded when Kassela bet.

"Seven-six," Kassela declared and tabled his hand, which prompted Perry to muck. The dealer briefly showed Perry's hand, which appeared to contain a jack low, before the bracelet winner headed to the payout desk in 14th place.

Strelitz Makes a "Scared" Call, Then Doubles

Level 21 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Daniel Strelitz and John Monnette went heads up to the first draw and both took two. Strelitz bet and Monnette called.

Strelitz took one more on the second draw, while Monnette again took two and called. Both players took one on the third draw.

Strelitz checked this time and Monnette put out a bet. "This is a scared call. I don't really want to with my stack," Strelitz said as he put the chips in. Monnette showed him 7-6-5-4-2 to win the pot.

A few hands later, Strelitz would get those chips back in a hand of A-5 Triple Draw.

On the second draw, he bet and Monnette called. Frank Kassela then raised and Strelitz went all in for his last 10,000. Monnette folded.

Both players stood pat and Kassela announced an eight.

"Wheel,' Strelitz said, turning over 5-4-3-2-A.

"Hard to beat a wheel," Kassela joked while handing over the double up.

"This is Nitty"

Level 21 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Philip Eisman raised from the button and was called by both Alejandro Torres and Matthew Schreiber, who were in the small and big blinds respectively.

The draw went 2-3-2 and then Torres led out with a bet. Both his opponents called before all three players drew one.

Two checks saw Eisman bet and both his opponents called. Schreiber and Torres each took one while Eisman stood pat.

Two checks put action on Eisman and he said, "This is nitty. Eighty-six."

He then tabled the {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and it was good as both his opponents mucked.

Galen Hall Eliminated in 15th Place ($7,565)

Badugi

Galen Hall raised from the button only to have Philip Eisman three-bet from the big blind. Hall four-bet all in for 90,000 total and Eisman called.

Both players took one on both the first and second draws before standing pat. Hall's last draw was a five to give him a {7-}{5-}{4-}{2-} badugi but it was no good as Eisman rolled over the {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Hall hit the rail in 15th place, which wasn't a bad result as yesterday he indicated that before this tournament he had never played badugi nor ace-to-five.
