Garzon Finishes Off Defending Champion Bronshtein

Yuval Bronshtein

Yuval Bronshtein, the 2021 $1,500 Limit Hold'em champion, was all-in for his last 5,000 in the hijack before Francisco Garzon raised on the button and Jon Kyte called in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Kyte check-folded to Garzon's continuation bet.

Yuval Bronshtein: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Francisco Garzon: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Bronshtein was behind with his ace-high but had two overcards to Garzon's pocket pair. "Club on the turn?" asked Bronshtein politely.

The {10-Diamonds} turn didn't give him any extra equity and he couldn't connect as the {2-Clubs} rolled off on the river, eliminating his chances of back-to-back victories.
