Herm Eliminates Soverel

Level 13 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Sam Soverel
Sam Soverel

Sam Soverel moved all-in for exactly his starting stack of 300,000 chips from under the gun and was reraised all-in by Mark Herm. The rest of the players ducked out of the way and Soverel and Herm headed to the flop heads-up.

The hands were tabled and it was the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} held by Soverel that were at-risk and behind the pocket {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} held by Herm.

The dealer ran out the board of {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Spades} and things ended as they began, with Herm ahead, which in turn eliminated Soverel from the tournament.

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

A total of 101 entries were recorded on Day 1 of Event #85: $50,000 High Roller, with 35 unique individuals, plus any late registrants, returning for Day 2 action.

Late registration for this event is open until the cards are in the air at the start of Day 2.

Jason Koon (2,405,000; 1x WSOP Winner) was the only player who eclipsed the two million chip mark at the end of the day, and he will be hoping to put that ammunition to good use as he seeks his second WSOP gold bracelet.

Directly behind Koon is the red hot Ole Schemion (1,760,000; 1x WSOP Winner) who is fresh off his dominant performance in Event #79: 1,979 Hall of Fame Bounty last week that secured his first piece of WSOP jewelry.
