Event #8: $600 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack Begins at 11:00 AM

The2021 World Series of Poker kicks off today at 11:00 AM with Event #8: $600 No-Limit Hold'em.

In this event, all players that enter will receive a starting stack of 30,000 in tournament chips and will play 30-minute blind levels. Late registration will remain open until the end of level 12 (~6:00 PM). There will be a 20-minute break after every 4 levels with a 75-minute dinner break after level 14 (~7:00 PM). All players that are remaining after level 22 will bag their chips for Day 2 restart on Tuesday, October 5th at 12:00 PM.

2019 was the last time this event was played, attracting a total of 6,150 entries and building a prize pool of $3,228,750. At the end of the two days, there was only one man left standing and that was Jeremy Pekerak, taking home his first WSOP gold bracelet and $398,281. Pekarek bested fellow Illinoisan Dan Kutzman who finished second place for $245,881.

Other notables that made the cash in 2019 include, WSOP gold bracelet winner James Mackey (10th, $27,463), WSOP gold bracelet winner Scott Davies (192nd $2,257) and current leader in WSOP Circuit rings Maurice Hawkins (193rd, $2,257).
