Karambinis More Than Doubles With Aces

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

A short-stack was already all in when Jim Karambinis and a player in middle position saw a three-way flop. When the dealer spread {3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, Karambinis' opponent grabbed a stack of his chips and, before he could more than forward, Karambinis beat him to the pot with his last 171,000.

His opponent argued that he hadn't acted yet, but the rest of the table said there was enough forward motion to deem his move a bet. The bet stood, and Karambinis was all in.

The short-stack showed {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, middle position showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for top pair, while Karambinis had them both beat with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. Karambinis secured the hand when he hit a set on the {a-Hearts} river to double up. The short-stack was eliminated.

"Game change for you," a tablemate told Karambinis.
