Frakes Triples; Soni Misses Out on Double Knockout

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Parmod Soni raised to 11,500 from early position before both blinds went all in, the small blind for 59,000 and big blind Steve Frakes for around 11,000. Soni folded to the small blind's raise after a brief tank.

Steve Frakes: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Small Blind: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades}, giving Frakes a straight and nearly a triple up. Soni said he folded {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and would've flopped the flush and knocked out both players if he had called.

"He's going to win the tournament," a tablemate said about Frakes after hitting the miracle with a short-stack.
