Schwartz Doubles Through Peters

Level 20 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

David Peters held a significant chip lead and was attempting to bully the rest of the table. The action folded to Peters in the cutoff who jammed all in with three short stacks behind him. Jake Schwartz woke up in the big blind with a reasonable holding and called off his stack of 1,945,000.

Jake Schwartz: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
David Peters: {q-Spades}{6-Spades}

The flop came {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} left Schwartz in the lead with his pocket eights. The {2-Diamonds} on the turn gave Peters a straight draw but the {9-Spades} on the river bricked out.

Fred Goldberg Eliminated in 8th Place ($21,435)

Level 20 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Fred Goldberg
Fred Goldberg

Fred Goldberg limped in the small blind after the table folded and David Peters announced all-in. The dealer threw out the all in plaque and Goldberg went into the tank. After giving it some serious thought, he dropped his stack into the middle which was a little over 2,000,000, and said, "I hate calling it off."

Fred Goldberg: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
David Peters: {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Goldberg was a big favorite as Peters only had one overcard. The dealer spread a flop of {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, pairing Peters bottom card. The turn changed nothing as the {10-Hearts} fell, but the {7-Diamonds} on the river meant Peters had made trips. Goldberg was eliminated in 8th Place for $21,435

Beck Doubles

Level 19 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Jason Beck ripped his stack of 1,250,000 in the middle from early position and Fred Goldberg made the call.

Jason Beck: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Fred Goldberg: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Beck was ahead with his ace-high and the flop came {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, giving him top pair. He was looking to fade the two overcards as the {5-Spades} came on the turn, taking away a couple more outs from Goldberg. The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Beck doubled up with his two pairs, tens and fives.

Alexander Spikes an Ace

Level 19 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

David Peters opened to 320,000 from under the gun and DJ Alexander shipped all in for 1,365,000 in the small blind. Fred Goldberg quickly folded his big blind and Peters called just as fast to put Alexander at risk.

DJ Alexander: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
David Peters: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

It was looking like Peters was going to add to his chip lead but the flop of {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} gave Alexander a pair of aces. The {7-Spades} on the turn and the {3-Spades} on the river confirmed the double-up for Alexander.
