Big Slick Does Not Do the Trick for Wood

Level 28 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Brian "Pure_reason" Wood limped the small blind and "Beratna" checked their option from the big to bring about a flop of {3-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Wood checked, "Beratna" bet 16,000, and Wood check-jammed for 192,140. "Beratna" called and the hands were turned up.

Brian "Pure_reason" Wood: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
"Beratna": {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The {6-Hearts} turn locked it up for "Beranta", and Wood exited in in 31st place after the {k-Diamonds} was run out on the river.

Ladies Slay Dunst

Level 28 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst

Michael "EZSqueeZ" Howell raised to 32,000 from middle position, the small blind called before Tony "Panoramic" Dunst moved all in from the big blind for 559,363, Howell called and the small blind folded.

Dunst would need some serious help to stay alive as he held the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} vs the {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} of Howell.

The board would provide no such help as it ran out tamely the {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Dunst was eliminated in 32nd place.

WSOP Legend: Doyle Brunson's Final Bracelet, 15 Years Later

Level 27 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante
WSOP Legend Doyle Brunson
WSOP Legend Doyle Brunson

At the beginning of the 2005 WSOP, Doyle Brunson remained the co-king of the all-time bracelet count, tied along with Johnny Chan at nine. However, as the series drew toward its close in late June, that was no longer the case Chan had overtaken him by winning No. 10 to stand atop the mountain alone.

Brunson was already phasing out his tournament play, having cashed precisely zero times that summer and just three times in the previous two combined, although one had resulted in a bracelet victory.

When it came time for Event #31: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, Brunson dusted off his tournament chops and made a run.

Zinno Spilled Out

Level 26 : 5,000/10,000, 1,300 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

Anthony "heheh" Zinno raised to 20,000 from the hijack over an early limper. "CARPTheMan" called from the cutoff as did the big blind and the limper.

The flop came the {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Zinno bet 41,100 into a pot of 88,750. "CARPTheMan" called, the other two folded.

The turn was the {6-Clubs}. Zinno jammed for 279,330 and was called.

Zinno had a pair and a draw with the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} while "CARPTheMan" had two-pair with the {k-Spades}{10-Spades}. Zinno would need a club but the river was the {4-Diamonds} and he was gone in 40th place while "CARPTheMan" took the overall chip lead.

Level 26 : 5,000/10,000, 1,300 ante

After a player limped, Guo Liang "Ct188" Chen raised to 30,000 from the hijack and Troy "troyrlee" Lee three-bet to 60,000 from the button. Both blinds folded, the limper got out of the way, and Chen moved all in for 156,107. Lee called and discovered the bad news.

Guo Liang "Ct188" Chen: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Troy "troyrlee" Lee: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Chen shipped the double.
