Event 33: $1,111 Every 1 for Covid Relief (Caesars Cares) ended this past Sunday. Alek Stasiak was the eventual winner taking home $343,203 and a gold bracelet. Typically a story like this is all we have at the end of a poker tournament. We follow the big names and love hearing about someone unknown making a deep run and how it came about. Event 33 gave us that story and much more.
The tournament attracted 2,323 participants, who each donated $111 of their buy-in to the Caesars Cares assistance fund; this fund supports Caesars Entertainment team members across the U.S. who have suffered unanticipated hardships as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Felipe "Split1Dolar" Puddo raised from the middle to 80K, and Joshua "thefreshest" Mccully called from the big blind. Mccully check-called for 55K on the flop, and again for 82.5K on the turn. They both checked when put four diamonds on the board, and the queen-nine of Mccully took down the ace-ten of Puddo.
