Level 24 : 350,000/700,000, 85,000 ante
Samuel Taylor
Samuel Taylor

In just the third hand of the final table, Wenling Gao raised to 1.4 million and was called by Samuel Taylor in middle position.

The duo went heads-up to the {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop on which Gao continued for 1.75 million and picked up a call.

Gao then checked the {a-Clubs} on the turn which prompted a bet of 4.2 million by Taylor. What followed was a check-raise to 11.9 million by Gao and Taylor made the call to create a pot of more than 31.9million.

The {q-Spades} fell on the river and Gao bet 8.75 million. Taylor moved all in for 9,918,268 total and was quickly called by Gao.

In the showdown, Taylor turned over the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a flopped set of nines but Gao's {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} had turned a set of aces. The 9th place finish of Taylor comes with a payday of $230,395.

Mariano Martiradonna: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Benjamin Rolle: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Samuel Vousden Eliminated in 12th Place ($161,686)

Level 23 : 300,000/600,000, 75,000 ante
Samuel Vousden
Samuel Vousden

Down to only 5,595,822, Samuel Vousden moved all in from the cutoff and was called by none other than Stoyan Madanzhiev in the big blind. It seemed fitting that it would be Madanzhiev after he previous two clashed and this time Vousden had the best of it heading into the showdown.

Samuel Vousden: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Stoyan Madanzhiev: {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop made it likely for the kicker to play a vital role and Madanzhiev then spiked the {3-Diamonds} turn to take the lead. A blank {4-Hearts} followed on the river and that spelled the end for Vousden in 12th place.

To make things even worse, Tyler Cornell and Thomas Ward both showed a mucked trey which meant thhat Madanzhiev hit a one-outer to deal the final blow. Vousden's exit is rewarded with a payday of $161,686)
