Warhurst Runs Into Aces

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante
hur5t eliminated
hur5t eliminated

The third and final entry looked like a charm not long ago for Julian "hur5t" Warhurst, however, that all came to an end in the penultimate hand before the break. Down to fewer than 12 bllinds he jammed and China's "LIFN" reshoved to isolate.

Julian "hur5t" Warhurst: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
"LIFN": {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

On a board of {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, Warhurst missed his set and a gutshot to bow out short of the money.

Smallest Pocket Pair Cracks Largest in Blind vs. Blind Exit for Ventura

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

Simon "sprhightrolr" Grabenschweiger, playing a stack over 400,000, simply set his sole remaining opponent Diego "TheProjector" Ventura all in when it folded to him in the small blind. Ventura called for his 129,897 chips, as one might expect with {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}. Grabenschweiger, with {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, flopped a set, said "sorry" as it held over the {4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts} run-out, and gave the Peruvian No. 1 a "GG" as he exited.

Break Near the Bubble

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

The rapid pace of eliminations has whittled down the field by the hundreds in the past hour as just 482 contenders remain with chips as their disposal. Only the top 440 spots get paid and the race to the money recommences after the scheduled six-minute break.

Abdullah Doubles; Busts After

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

Asad "uhsah" Abdullah scored a fortunate double with a short stack when his {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} got there against the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} of Motoyoshi "falcon8808" Okamura. The board ran out {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades} and the ace appeared on the river.

Abdullah was then at risk and dominated once more with {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} as Goonjan "gm-ind" Mall looked him up with the superior {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. This time, the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Spades}{9-Hearts} board provided no help as Mall even rivered a full ouse.

Near Double for "Brainfwaves" as He Eliminates "BeAtHome"

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

Waylon "CantTouchThs" Frey opened to 20,000 and found "BeAtHome" moving all in behind him for 162,263. "Brainfwaves" then raised a few thousand more (all in himself); Frey folded. Two suited kings, but {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for "BeAtHome" and {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for "Brainfwaves". The board ran out {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, the hope for a jack signalled by "BeAtHome" shown to have been thin by another tablemate who gave a peek at his folded {j-}.

McCully Among the Bigger Stacks

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,200 ante
kenneth228 eliminated by thefreshest
kenneth228 eliminated by thefreshest

Following a raise by Joshua "thefreshest" Mccully and the call by "kenneth228" in the big blind, the latter check-shoved the {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop and was snap-called by Mccully.

"keneth228": {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Joshua "thefreshest" Mccully: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

It was all over after the {a-Spades} turn and the {7-Spades} river had become a mere formality as Mccully further increased his already solid stack.

Dominated Ace for "luckyroxan33"

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,200 ante

A short stack of 78,819 was in front of "luckyroxan33" when he faced an under the gun raise from Ivan "Negriin" Vilchez (min, to 20,000). He moved in and was swiftly called, finding his {a-Hearts}{4-Spades} in trouble against Vilchez's {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Both players hit their kickers on the {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} board, but "luckyroxan33" had to end his tournament here.
