Grise Wins in Epic Battle
The action was opened with a raise to 3,500 from the player under the gun before Matthew Moss three-bet to 10,500 from middle position. Igor Kurganov four-bet to 28,000 from the hijack and saw Ben Grise call from the small blind.
The initial raiser folded but Moss called to see a flop. Moss checked before Kurganov bet 22,000 and Grise went into the tank sat with 90,000 behind. After close to 90 seconds passed, Grise called, and Moss folded.
The was revealed on the turn, and Grise checked after another 90 seconds of thought. Kurganov checked behind, and after the hit the river, Grise bet 25,000.
"Just that little one chip," said Kurganov with a smile on his face. "You have ace-king?" question Kurganov, but Grise gave no response.
"Bad read" replied Grise as Kurganov tried to work out Grise's exact holding.
"I hope you would have jammed if you had quads" said Kurganov.
"I'm not giving you any more information" laughed Grise, and Kurganov agreed.
The clock was then called by another player at the table and when Kurganov had 15 seconds left to act, he folded.
Gris revealed for two pair, and won an epic pot after the dinner break.
