Richards Picks Up Aces to Double Up

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante
John Richards
John Richards

Alan Sternberg opened to 300,000 from the cutoff and John Richards stuck in a three-bet to 960,000 in the big blind. Sternberg four-bet shoved all in and Richards snapped it off for another 560,000.

John Richards: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Alan Sternberg: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

The flop fell {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} to give Richards a comfortable lead with two pair. The turn was the {q-Hearts} which was one of the best cards in the deck for Sternberg but the {10-Spades} on the river ensured Richards of a double up.
