Family Story

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

A rather unusual hand unfolded at a table over in Amazon just now and it was a group effort to recount what went down.

It began with a 500 open from Shaun Daniels in early position and Allyn Shulman and Gabriel Andrade flatted in middle position and the small blind respectively.

On the {j-}{10-}{9-} rainbow flop, it checked to Shulman who bet 900. Back to Andrade and he upped it to 3,100, which Daniels called but Shulman folded to.

The turn was a {k-} and there were still no flush draws out there. Andrade barreled for 5,000, which Daniels tank-called and before the dealer could deal the river card, Andrade turned over {5-}{6-}, saying that he was taking himself out of the hand so that he couldn't bluff anymore.

Giving PokerNews some background to his decision, Andrade explained that the table had been extremely active with both the straddle and double straddle already utilised at this early stage and the rest of the table backed him up.
