Souza Nails the River, Sends Nevanlinna Out

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

PLO

The flop was showing {q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} and there was around 24,000 in the pot. Murilo Souza was first to act when he fired in 24,000 and Jussi Nevanlinna called.

The {k-Clubs} landed on the turn and Souza hit the tank, thinking for several minutes then asked the dealer what the next game was. The dealer showed the Limit Hold'em plaque, and Souza instantly moved his whole 55,500 stack into the middle.

Nevanlinna called all in for the exact same 55,500 that was bet, and the two turned over their hands. Souza tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a pair of queens that would be behind when Nevanlinna showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for top two.

An unfortunate card for Nevanlinna landed on the river when the {a-Diamonds} hit the felt, giving Souza a higher two pair and the pot, eliminating Nevanlinna from the tournament.
