Hands #25-26: Tanouye Doubles Through Afriat

Level 37 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #25: Joe Cada raised to 800,000 from the button and Richard Cox called from the big blind. The flop came {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, Cox bet 1.2 million, and Cada called. The turn was the {7-Hearts}, Cox checked, Cada bet 1.3 million, and Cox folded after some consideration.

Hand #26: Eric Afriat raised the button to 800,000 and Jeffrey Tanouye called from the big blind.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Tanouye checked. Afriat bet 800,000, Tanouye jammed, and Afriat called with a covering stack.

Tanoyue: {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Afriat: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Afriat had the edge and Tanouye needed to improve to survive. The {J-Clubs} on the turn made Tanouye's straight and left Afrait drawing thin. The {K-Diamonds} river changed nothing and Tanouye doubled.
