Florian Duta Crushes Day 1c of the COLOSSUS
Event #7: $565 COLOSSUS No-Limit Hold’em had an impressive 1,978 entries play Day 1c at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. There were 78 runners who found a bag at the end of 18 levels and are moving on to Day 2. Florian Duta would end up being the biggest stack moving on from this flight.
Duta started to run up a stack about halfway through the day and never slowed down, bagging an impressive 523,000 in chips. Other big chip stacks to end the day included Christian Pham (349,000), Corbin Avery (293,000), Sameer Aljanedi (264,000), and Jong Jin (242,000).
A few notables also moving on to Day 2 include bracelet winner John Racener (270,000), Alexander Lynskey (138,000), 2009 WSOP Main Event Champion Joe Cada (88,000), and Clayton Maguire (220,000).
Cada won a bracelet just yesterday in Event #3: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em SHOOTOUT, and already was back grinding today. He played a short stack most of the day but made it through to Day 2 and will be looking to run up a stack. He already has over $10,000,000 in cashes and will certainly be someone to look out for during this tournament.
Abe Deguzman Jr Busted Jesse Sylvia on the bubble, just before the end of level 12. There were two tables with an all-in at the time, but Deguzman was the only players to eliminate someone during the hand. His aces held up against Sylvia and all other tables cheered as they were now in the money.
There were a lot of pros that could not get anything going in this flight and busted before the bubble, that list includes Matt Affleck, Chris Moorman, Alex Foxen, Patrick Eskandar, Georgios Sotiropoulos, Maria Ho, and Kenny Hallaert.
Players who did not make it through to Day 2 yet can still register in any of the remaining flights scheduled below.
