Day 2 of Event #58: No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed Concludes with Andrew Graham Bagging the Chip Lead
Day 2 kicked off with the 203 survivors from Day 1 merging with the 26 runners who used the last minutes of late registration to get involved. After ten levels of play, those 229 have been reduced to just 27, here at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, all guaranteed a payday of at least $16,958.
Top of the field sits Andrew Graham with 1,403,000 chips in play. Graham catapulted into the chip lead in the penultimate level of the night when Anthony Spinella called his five-bet shove with pocket jacks but ran into Graham's pocket kings. Graham managed to retain his chip lead for the remainder of the evening.
Eric Blair (1,280,000), Dave Stefanski (1,150,000) and Justin Adams (1,113,000) were the other three who made up the millionaire's club today and who have a chip advantage going into Day 3.
Other big names contending the $616,302 first prize and gold bracelet are James Mackey (787,000), Sergio Aido (744,000) Main Event Champion Greg Merson (584,000), John-Robert Bellande (440,000), Martin Finger (304,000), and Sylvain Loosli (288,000).
It wasn't good news for everyone. Many players fell by the wayside including Main Event Champion and 888poker Ambassador, Martin Jacobson, fellow Main Event Event Champion Ryan Riess, Jake Schindler, Michael Gathy, Bryn Kenney, Scott Seiver, Liv Boeree, Igor Kurganov, Robert Mizrachi, Asi Moshe, Ryan Leng, Bart Lybaert and Felix Bleiker.
Day 3 resumes at 2pm on Saturday, June 30. Pokernews will be here for the duration, bringing you all the action. Don't miss it!
