Ace-High is Good for Merson

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Greg Merson
Greg Merson

Three players saw a flop of {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} and the small blind checked to Greg Merson who fired out a bet of 6,500 from under the gun. Davide Suriano was on the button and thought for a moment before putting in a raise to 19,000. The small blind folded but Merson stuck around.

The turn brought the {2-Clubs} and both players checked to the {9-Clubs} on the river. Merson checked again and Suriano checked back. Merson flipped over {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for a missed flush draw but his ace-high was good enough to force Suriano's cards to the muck.
